"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day, I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return."
This quote pretty much sums up what I want this blog to be about. Trying to enjoy everyday life and the small blessings that can often go overlooked with the stress of work and life. I want to enjoy the time and place that we're in and not wish time away. I want to be able to remember when 'we lived in California' or 'before we had kids' or 'when we lived in our first house' even when we're old and gray-haired and can't remember what we ate for dinner the night before.
I want to share our everyday life with our family and friends so that we don't feel like strangers when we're together and so that I can talk about our life in California without feeling like it's a separate world.
So, I'm officially entering the blogging world. I never thought I would, but as I get older (I'll officially turn 30 in 2 weeks) I feel a stronger need to stay connected to family and friends. And with the happenings of the last 3 months (which I may or may not get into at a later date) the urge is even stronger to keep in touch with and share our lives with those who we know we can count on regardless of how often we see eachother or how often we talk on the phone. So, I hope you enjoy my first post and the pictures to go along with it!
