Back Home Again....

...in Indiana. Tux and I survived our cross country flight and are settled in. This is the shortest amount of time that I've spent at home over the last 3 summers, so I know time is going to go too fast! Mom and I went to a horse show last weekend, we took 3 of the young horses and had a great time, mom and Tuffy won there class while Opie and I did well for his first time in the show ring. It's great to be able to spend time out in the barn with the horses. Out in California, there aren't many opportunities to ride. Every winter I've looked into volunteering at a Therapeutic riding center nearby, but time has kept me from doing that. Maybe this winter I'll finally make it a priority!
Saturday was a fun day, as my best friend's from high school brought their young girls over to ride. Suprisingly, we got a group photo, which is hard to get nowadays.

Gotta love my tan lines, which, believe it or not, are actually much better than a week ago.

Saturday evening I was looking forward to having a bonfire, which has kind of become a tradition over the past few summers. It seems like we always had them when mom and dad were out of town, this year was the first that they were going to be able to take part in the bonfire traditions that Shell, Chris, Jimmy, Grandpa and I have created. Well, it was a rainout.....but good times were had by all, as mom and dad invited good family friends over and we remained inside chatting and playing a mean game of Taboo!

It's been SO humid here, I'm not used to 90% humidity. In the desert, we get the heat, but humidity only reaches about 10% or so. On Saturday, when we got the horses in from the pasture, we rinsed every single on of them off because they were lathered in sweat. Here are a few pics I took yesterday out in the barn:

This upcoming week should be a busy one as we are going to be getting ready for the 2nd Annual Windy Acres Horse Camp....18 kids from 8 to 11 years old. Lots of stuff to get ready for!
