I've been in such a funk the last couple days and I couldn't tell you why. It all started a week ago, I was trying to get ready for the golf tournament at work, squeezing in practice every evening I could. I felt pretty good about my game, but wouldn't ya know it, the day brought
gail force winds with it! No matter how much I practiced, it wouldn't have prepared me for that. However, it's always a fun day and I was very grateful that I walked away with some cash in my pocket. After golf, we all had a get together at my boss's house and got to tell our stories of the day...career shots that we hit or stupid choices that were made. Looking back, it was all good. No complaints. However, it's taken me the better part of this week to get over seeing a lady, accidentally, get whacked in the face by her young son taking a swing a golf club. Ouch. Still makes me cringe just thinking about it. Not to mention it was following a lesson I just gave them and not to mention that she was completely rude and out of line (admittedly). Seriously, today was the first day that I didn't feel shook up by the ordeal. I know...I should have gotten over it quickly, but I didn't, it's not my nature. It affects me when people are brash or out of line, I take it personal...I know that about myself and I can't change it. And perhaps it's not a bad thing...?? Anyhow, that doesn't really matter. I'm in a much better state of mind today, I worked today and it was laid back with kids and families taking part in Easter festivities on a perfect sunny day. Hearing kids talk about hunting for Easter eggs and getting Easter baskets made me think back to when my sister and I were kids. We would always dye eggs and mom would make sure that we always had an
Easter egg hunt. Outside if it was nice weather, inside if it wasn't so nice. I miss those traditions as I get older and live farther away....well...not to say that if I lived closer we would take part in an egg hunt, but I miss family traditions and look forward to the day when we have kiddos running around that we can start Easter traditions with.
Here are a few pics of the week:

I'm actually lining up a birdie putt here! It's a par 3 and I stuck my tee shot within 3 feet of the hole and sunk my putt for birdie. This was a big hole for me, I won $300 on this one hole!

I snapped a picture of the mountains at dusk as I was walking Tux.

Our roses are in full bloom! Jimmy cut some just the other day and we have a beautiful bouquet in our kitchen.
Oh! We had an earthquake just this afternoon! Jimmy, Tux and I were sitting on the back patio and felt a little shaking....then it just kept going and getting more pronounced, so much so that we thought it would be a good idea to get up out of our chairs under the overhang and get to a wide open space. So, there we were, standing barefoot in our yard, feeling and seeing the ground and surroundings shake for over a minute! Such a weird feeling. After it was all over, we went in and turned on CNN and they were covering it within a few minutes. Sounds like it was a 6.9 with the epicenter in Baja, which is south of us. How I hope that we are not in California when the supposed 'Big One' hits. I can't imagine what that would feel like. Oh...this is funny, we didn't have any damage, just the light in the kitchen was swaying when we walked in. But Jimmy just informed me that it knocked his deodorant over that was sitting on the bathroom vanity. Wow! That's big time...
This evening, for Easter dinner, we are grilling some nice big steaks that I bought at the store yesterday along with some huge shrimp that the lady behind the meat counter recommended. I'm getting ready to take the dog for a walk and then partake in a perfectly grilled dinner, I'm sure. Lately, I seem to buy anything at the store that can be grilled....Jimmy does all the grilling. I'm not sure if he realizes this, but I haven't cooked a meal in the kitchen for a long time. I love our kitchen, but I just haven't felt like cooking. Oh well. Here is a photo that I used our camera timer for just because I wanted to get a picture of the 3 of us.

Happy Easter! Love ya'll!
Happy Easter Crystal, Jimmy, and Tux! Love you guys, and love that last picture! Makes me miss you even more. :(
ReplyDeleteHaha! I just looked at the last picture again, and it really looks like Tux is smiling for the camera too! Seriously, he's looking right at the camera and smiling! How cute!
ReplyDeleteI noticed that about Tux when I first looked at that picture...how many times can you catch a dog looking directly into the camera? LOL.
ReplyDeleteHope you guys had a great Easter, hope you got out of work early!!
Ok, I just laughed out loud for like 2 straight minutes about Jimmy's deodarant!! Seriously...is he absolutely certain the deodarant was sitting upright BEFORE the earthquake?! He must be very particular about his deodarant to notice a change in its position! So funny! I'm still chuckling! Glad you guys are safe, your roses are crazy beautiful, and I need to know more about this rude lady who ruined my friend's week. :) Maybe I should just email, this is along comment. And I hope Jimmy's deodarant is recovering okay.
ReplyDeleteok, one last thing. Jimmy looks really different in the last photo...I think his hair is way shorter??
