Oh my goodness.... what a week. I just got done with a 14 hour day at work, I'm ready for bed and it's not even 9:00 at night! If I were at home, in Indiana, I would have headed to the family's house tonight to unwind with some 'barn time' with my mom and sis or called up my best girlfriends to chat about the week. However...since I'm 2,000 miles away and getting home at 8:00 at night...this blog is the best I can do! What's been going on this week:
- After getting off work, I've been practicing really hard for a tournament coming up on Wednesday.

- We have our first rose on the rose bush!!

- It's been hot and I have a serious golf tan.

- My boss went home sick today with a bronchial infection, now I'm afraid I'm going to get it. I was following him around all morning with a bottle of disenfectant. I would spray anything he touched once he left the room.....

-I took Tux to the dog park at 6 pm one night and he met a new friend named Bill...he's a pug. All the while I was talking with Bill's mom who's name I can't remember for the life of me. Why do I remember a dog's name before I remember a person's name?

- I'm slightly burnt out at work. Although I enjoy my job, my brain is fried after being understaffed this season and trying to make 550 members happy during a 6 month span....I'm feeling stretched a little thin...not complaining...just saying....

- Jimmy had an event at work that my dad and Chris (brother-in-law) would have enjoyed. Jim Hall was doing a speaking engagement at his club and brought 3 race cars from his museum. 2 were Chapparal cars (I think) and the other was the car that won the 1980 Indy 500. All were worth 10 MILLION dollars a piece. What?! I can't even fathom that.
Aside from all that, Jimmy and I have the day off tomorrow and look forward to playing golf. Honestly, if I wasn't playing in a tournament on Wednesday, golf would be the furthest thing from my mind...but such it is. Here are some pictures of the past week and I'll try to remember my camera tomorrow to get some good golf pictures!

Jimmy watering our roses.

Our first rose!!

Here are some pictures that Jimmy took of the race cars that were brought to Eldorado....

I have NO idea how they got them from the museum in Texas to Eldorado....let alone, how they got them IN the building. I don't know a lot about racing, but it sounds like this Jim Hall guy is a pretty well known guy in racing. My favorite quote from Jimmy...in a very excited voice, in the midst of his story.... "I KNEW he was friends with Roger Penske, but he wasn't friends with Roger Penske..." typical 'Jimmy' story. He cracks me up. I knew what he was saying, he was saying that this guy Jim Hall is not ONLY friends with Roger Penske, he freakin' owned race cars with Roger Penske (including the 1980 winning car driven by Johnny Rutherford). Anyways, it's all good stuff.
Lastly, I'm going back to the rose bushes and flowers. We have a tree in our front courtyard that I have planted flowers around and that my mom has planted flowers around. EVERYTHING on the the right side of the tree wilts away and dies. I have no idea what the difference is. Both sides get sunlight and shade and they both get watered the same amount. Check it out.....

What is the deal?! How do I keep flowers alive on the right side of this tree?! Whatever. Anyway, I'll post more this week, love ya'll!!

  1. Good to hear your "voice" again! :) I have a theory about the wilting flowers...is Tux peeing on them?? Pudge does the same thing in our yard. Maybe he's doing it when you're not paying attention? Anyway, that's my theory.
Don't let him near the rose bushes. They're gorgeous!!!! Miss you, and good luck golfing!
