Today was an absolutely gorgeous day in the Desert! It was one of those days that reminds me why it's so nice to live here in the winter time. Although, weather is not a reason for me to move anywhere and that is definitely not the reason I initially came out here, but it is a perk.
Today was one of those days where I had great ambitions of being productive all day long.
I went to the course this morning to teach for a couple hours. I had 2 lessons, both of which I felt good about. Although, I will say, I felt awkward for most of the second lesson. Working one on one with another person can create some weird situations. For example, I've had a number of lessons where, halfway through, the person lets an uncontrollable fart during her swing. Ummmm...what do you say? The weird thing is THEY don't say anything! So, of course, I'M not going to acknowledge it..what would you say "uh, excuse you.." I don't think so. Trust me, it's a very bizarre situation, especially if it happens more than once. Anyways, today, my second lesson was stumbling around like she was drunk! Come to find out she has trouble sleeping and she told me she took an Ambien last night at like 3 in the morning because she couldn't sleep. Well, I don't know anything about Ambien, but it was 10 o'clock and I was afraid to have her swing a club in fear that I would have to pick her up off the ground! Seriously, she almost fell over a couple times, so I promptly suggested that we move on to the putting green. Needless to say, I breathed a big sigh of relief when that lesson was over. I don't think she will remember anything I told her, actually I question whether she will remember the lesson at all!
When I got home, my ambitions went out the window and I, without any guilt, laid out on the back patio and tried to rid my tan lines.
I know you're probably like "why did she take a picture of her feet?" Well, I was trying to get a picture of my tan lines, but every other picture I took made my legs look like tree trunks, so this is what you get.
After laying in the sun for a while and making a half hearted attempt at cleaning the house, I took Tux for a nice long walk.

Above is Tux stopping to take a break in a random person's yard. I guess it can get pretty hot on a walk if you're wearing a Tuxedo. I thought I was going to have to call Jimmy to pick us up after about the fourth time of him doing this, but we finally made it.
Jimmy got home a little after 3 and mowed the lawn. Ahhh...the smell of freshly mowed grass is my favorite, so I snapped a couple pictures.
Here is to simple pleasures!
this post made me laugh out loud! something about farting during golf lessons...actually, just talking about farts in general...it makes me giggle :) seriously, how old am i??? thanks for the chuckle, crystal! love you!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, and the picture of your toes made me smile too :)
ReplyDeletefarting during a golf lesson??! AWKWARD. Why didn't you tell us about this years ago?? I never knew that was an on-the-job risk for you! :) And tell Jimmy he has nice calves.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I think it's funny to take pictures from random perspectives, it makes me laugh! Jimmy just rolls his eyes at me (in a loving way of course). And I don't know why I never told you about people farting...I guess it just never came up in conversation, but that's the good thing about a blog!
