"There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go." Author unknown

I came across this quote this evening and it just struck a heartstring. It's so true. Everyone can relate to this based on their individual experiences. For me, I think about the miscarriage I had 2 months ago, my grandma passing away over 5 years ago and just the fact that many times I wish I could go back to being a kid so that I could live with blissful ignorance of the 'real world.' Don't get me wrong, I love what my life has become, but don't tell me, when you feel like you're in over your head, that you wish you could go back to being 8 years old. The only thing I worried about was having enough bait to catch the biggest fish in the pond and making sure that mom would cut the crust off of my bologna, cheese, and ketchup sandwich.
I digress....
Life is good and we should live it to the fullest each and every day. And, for some reason, I have in my head that 'living to the fullest' means jumping out of a plane or hiking to the top of the tallest mountain, feeding the hungry and giving money to the needy, everyday. If I don't do something to that effect, then I haven't lived. But I'm learning that living a full life isn't all of those things...or even one of them...maybe it's just enjoying those that we can't live without before we have to let them go, or being grateful that we haven't had to learn from certain hard lessons that others have.
I digress again.....
It's about an hour past my bed time and my eyes are getting tired at the thought of getting up at 5 in the morning, so I'm off to bed!

Love ya'll!

  2. shannon and I would be able to live a lot fuller lives once you move back to Indiana. :) just kidding. but i DO look forward to the day you're much closer!
I'm the same way...I look at Andra and want to say to her "Soak this up...life is so easy and carefree right now!" But she doesn't think so when I won't let her watch 12 episodes of George, Dora, Bob the Builder...
