Birthday and other stuff

It's been a crazy week! Started out with Jury Duty in Palm springs on Monday, which lasted through Thursday. It was an interesting experience and I actually found it very stressful! Trying to focus on everything and working with 11 other people to try to come to a decision is not a walk in the park. The part I found relaxing were the 2 hour lunch breaks that gave me a chance to meander around Palm Springs. I can't remember the last time that I have walked around Palm Spring by myself. The weather was beautiful and I found shops that I couldn't help but stop in...you'll see why. Here are a few pics.....

The Palm Springs Court House....I think it was built back in the 70's. They didn't even have a room for the Jury to concregate before entering the courtroom. We just stood out in the hallway each morning and during breaks.

Downtown Palm Springs.

They had a HUGE variety of chocolate and fudge. I decided on getting 1 caramel covered marshmallow that was dipped in chocolate. SO good.

Aside from all that, my birthday was on Saturday!! The big 3-o. I had 3 packages waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday. The first that I opened was an awesome present from Shell and Chris. If you haven't heard of Pajamagrams, they are fantastic! You get a cute tote bag, a pair of pajamas and some bath beads or what not.

Then I opened a box from Kylie...another fantastic gift idea...gourmet chocolate covered strawberries.

You get a dozen strawberries dipped in chocolate with a variety of toppings, like coconut, chocolate chips, nuts, etc.
Tuxedo's birthday happened to be on Friday, so mom and dad sent a package for me, that I didn't open until my birthday AND a package for Tux. I think Tuxedo knew it was his birthday...he was a bit overly excited to get some new toys.

He didn't even give me the chance to take the tags off before he snatched the toys out of the bag!

I saved mom and dad's gift to open on my actual birthday...just because. I had to work on Saturday and ended up getting home around 5 after an exhausting lesson. I didn't even wait for Jimmy to get home before I ripped into my present. They bought me a round trip ticket to Indiana, along with a cookbook and a candle holder!! It was very unexpected and I'm so grateful to have such awesome parent's. I can't wait to plan my trip back home!

Once Jimmy got home and we got caught up on events of the day, he gave me his present to me......drum roll please......................... A TRIP TO HAWAII!!! I'm so excited, after all the emotional roller coasters we've gone through over the last 5 months and the fact that I turned 30 this year, going on vacation to Hawaii is something that I can't even tell you how much I'm looking forward too. I have never been to Hawaii and it's something that we have talked more and more about over the past year. We definitely wanted to travel there while we lived in California, the airfare is much more reasonable and the flight time is not bad at all compared to flying from the midwest. Usually, I am the one to make the arrangements for any travel plans we have...heck...I usually have to make the arrangements for any dinner plans...so for Jimmy to think this up and plan it all on his own just made me fall in love with him even more! It makes me chuckle to say that and you may think it's funny, but it's true! What a wonderful 30th birthday present. We are going to be going to Maui in August for 10 days, to see the resort we are going to, check out this link http://www.makenaresortmaui.com/.
Not only did he plan the vacation, but he bought me a beautiful bracelet that is totally 'me.'

After this week, I CAN'T WAIT for summer to get here!
Love ya'll!!
